About us

Weltreporter.net is the only global network of German freelance correspondents, reporting on 160 countries for German language media. Weltreporters are based from Almaty to New York, Beijing to Cairo, Mexico City to Moscow, one of us is always awake. Our interest in foreign peoples and places, in news and the stories behind the news, motivated us to live abroad.

We know the local customs and are well connected. We focus on different subjects – economics, politics, science, culture, technology – but we all deliver reliable, high quality reporting, whether it be print, radio, online or TV.

Weltreporter.net clients include Germany’s main TV stations (e.g. ARD, N24); magazines like Geo, brand eins, Brigitte, Merian and mare; leading weeklies Spiegel, Stern, Die Zeit and Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung; national dailies like Süddeutsche Zeitung, Handelsblatt, taz, German Financial Times, (Swiss) Neue Züricher Zeitung and many prestigious book publishing houses.

25 of our 43 correspondents also write and broadcast in English, as well as the languages of the countries they report from. They are based in Bangkok, Barcelona, Belgrade, Buenos Aires, Christchurch, The Hague, Durban , Geneva, Istanbul, Jakarta, Cairo, Los Angeles, Nairobi, New Delhi, New York, Ottawa, Paris, Prague, Rom, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo, Toulouse, Washington, DC.
